The Range Master is responsible for the overall day to day operation of 1st Safety Training. He is the administrator of the business.  He constantly monitors the safety of all training events.  May I introduce to you our Range Master–Bruce Weaver.

Bruce Weaver entered law enforcement December 5, 1970 with the Albuquerque Police Department, after completing three years in Military Intelligence in the United States Army. Bruce is an avid handgun and rifle shooter, and gun safety and rights advocate who enjoys teaching people to respect and shoot firearms safely.

He is currently developing a safety course for children 6 to 10 years of age and youth 11 to 17 years of age. Bruce truly believe that accidental shootings could be reduced if more youth were knowledgeable of firearms and not just curious of firearms.

He holds many certifications but just to mention a few:

  • Texas Department of Public Safety Certified License to Carry Instructor
  • Texas Commission on Law Enforcement (TCOLE) Certified Basic Firearms Instructor
  • Texas Commission on Law Enforcement (TCOLE) Master Certification
  • Texas Commission on Law Enforcement (TCOLE) Advanced Instructor
  • FEMA Certified Emergency Management Coordinator
  • Train the Trainer Active Shooter Instructor
  • Over ten years as SWAT Lieutenant

Bruce has taught over 1700 Federal and State of Texas Law Enforcement Officers the Basic Instructors Course and taught in several police academy classes throughout the country.  He is a proud Life-time member of the National Rifle Association and Texas Baptist Men Disaster Team.

Bruce is an experienced instructor. He is retired after over forty five years of law enforcement in Albuquerque, New Mexico and Dallas, Texas. He earned a Bachelor of Business Administration Degree from the University of Albuquerque and a Master of Arts in Public Administration Degree from the University of New Mexico.

Bruce’s commitment is to treat everyone with courtesy and respect and help each student gain confidence and to succeed. He believes in teaching small groups to give as much personal instruction and attention as possible. He will not spread political propaganda or sell products in his classes. Bruce teaches his students to respect life, support and comply with law enforcement personnel, and to carry firearms safely and courteously.

Bruce’s family also enjoys shooting at the range and often help with classes as safety officers during the proficiency course. They live in Richardson, and Rowlett, Texas. Bruce believes the one thing about eternal truths; that they are always true and will stand the test of time. Safety must always come first in all that we do and how we do it and it will stand the test of time.
